Sierra 1500 cold air intakes: oiled or dry filter
Most of the difference between one Sierra 1500 cold air intake and the next is the filter you will be looking after for the next few years. Oiled cotton flows well and is cleaned and re-oiled on a schedule; dry synthetic is rinsed, dried and asks less of you. Neither needs replacing often, but they are not maintained the same way.
The second question is what the kit actually includes. Some are a complete enclosure; some are a heat shield and an air filter meant to reuse part of the factory ducting, and the listing says which. The engine matters as much as the year, because a GM half-ton has carried several across these years and the mounting points move with them. Every intake here states its engines, its years and the manufacturer's emissions position. The list runs to 31 intakes.
