Gas struts that hold the hood up on their own, for the Jeep Wrangler 4WD, 2018-2025, and Gladiator 4WD, 2020-2025. They replace the routine of wrestling a prop rod or resting the hood against the windshield, which is how windshields get scratched. Mounting brackets are RC branded. Installation requires minor drilling.
The prop rod is fine until you are holding a flashlight in one hand and a socket in the other. These struts take the hood's weight and hold it there, so the engine bay is open the whole time you are working in it and the hood is never leaning on the windshield. The brackets are RC branded steel. Installation needs minor drilling, and a nutsert tool makes that job considerably easier than doing it without one.
