They hold the hood up on their own — no prop rod, no leaning the hood back against the glass. Plan on 30-45 minutes and minor drilling; a nutsert tool (Rough Country 10583) makes that step easier. Hoods with air inlets are not covered.
These hood struts cover the 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler in 4WD, including Unlimited, Rubicon, Sahara, Willys, and 4xe trims, plus the 2020-2026 Gladiator and the 2018 Wrangler JK. The struts mount to RC-branded brackets that take the place of the factory prop-rod setup, and the job runs about 30-45 minutes in a home driveway.
