Wrangler light bars: where they mount, what they light
On a Wrangler the mount decides nearly as much as the light does. The windshield hinges and the A-pillar carry a light bar high and throw it a long way, which is what you want on an open trail and what puts glare straight back at you in fog or dust. A bumper or light pod mount sits low, lights the ground you are about to drive over, and keeps the reflection down.
Beam pattern is the specification that decides the outcome; wattage is the one people compare. A spot throws a narrow column a long way and does very little at walking pace.
