Ram 1500 shocks and the coil-sprung rear
The Ram 1500 damps a coil-sprung rear axle rather than a leaf-sprung one, which is much of why it rides the way it does and why the rear shock absorber is doing more work than on most half-tons. A leaf pack provides some of its own damping through friction between the leaves. Coils provide none, so the damper is the only thing controlling the spring.
The other thing to establish is whether the truck has factory air suspension. Those trucks use their own shocks and are excluded from a good deal of what fits the steel-sprung ones. After that it is height: a unit built for stock ride height runs out of travel on a lifted truck, so every listing quotes the range it suits alongside the years, cabs and drivetrains. Front shocks and rear shocks are sold on their own as well as in sets. That is 49 items in all.
