Rock Sliders & Side Steps matched to your truck’s year, make and model — with the manufacturer’s exclusions shown before you buy.

Rock sliders: rated to lift the truck, not to step on

A rock slider is not a running board. A running board holds a person; a slider is engineered to take the full weight of the vehicle resting on a rock, and to slide off it without folding.

That is why sliders bolt or weld to the frame rather than to the body, and why the pinch weld and rocker panel are what they exist to protect — the two most expensive body panels to repair on any truck. Some sliders include a kick-out for a step, some are purely armor. If it mounts to the body, it is a step, whatever it is called.

Frame mounting, and bolt-on versus weld-on

Bolt-on sliders are the practical answer for most owners and are strong enough for anything short of hanging the truck off one. Weld-on is stronger and permanent, and it is a job for someone who welds properly.

Check what the mounting hardware attaches to — a slider bolted through sheet metal will tear it out under the load it was bought to take. We stock 14 rock slider and side step parts from 2 brands.
