These M1 monotube rear shocks for the 1999-2007 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 use a 46mm monotube body built from a 2-inch seamless extruded tube, with a 46mm digressive piston that changes damping response as the surface underneath the truck changes. The 18mm rod is centerless-ground, case-hardened, chromed and polished, and the body is zinc plated against road salt and grit. Vulcanized natural rubber bushings handle the mounting ends. Coverage spans RWD, 4WD, and AWD trims from WT through Denali and SS, so check your year and drivetrain in the fitment table. Rough Country lists installation at 1-2 hours.
