These N3 rear shocks for the 2006–2010 Jeep Commander cover Base, Sport, Limited, Overland, and 65th Anniversary Edition trims in both 4WD and RWD, but only on rigs already lifted 2.5–3.5 in — stock-height Commanders need a different part. Each unit uses 10-stage variable valving in a 54mm body with a 35mm piston and a chromed 18mm rod, nitrogen charged to hold damping steady as the shocks heat up. The fluid is rated to -40 degrees Celsius for cold-weather use. Rough Country lists the job at 1-2 hours.
