Truck storage: keeping gear from becoming a projectile

Loose gear in a cab is fine until it is not. In a rollover or a hard stop, a recovery strap and a shackle become the heaviest things in the vehicle, travelling at whatever speed you were.

Underseat storage uses the dead space under the rear bench and is the most useful cubic foot in a truck. Bed boxes secure tools out of the weather. Molle panels and door bags put small things where you can reach them without unbuckling. The common thread is that a place for something is what stops it ending up on the floor, and then on the back of your head.

Cab configuration decides what fits

Underseat boxes are cut for a specific cab and seat layout. Crew, extended and regular are three different parts, and a folding bench changes the available height.

Anything mounted in the cab should be bolted rather than wedged, and anything heavy belongs low and behind the axle line rather than high: a toolbox on the bed rail changes the handling of a loaded truck more than its weight suggests. Bed boxes are cut for bed length and for whether a tonneau cover is already fitted, so check both before ordering. We stock 54 storage and organizer parts from 5 brands, matched to cab and bed configuration.
