Choosing a door
Wrangler tops and doors: soft, hard, living with both
Taking the top off is most of the reason people buy a Wrangler, and the choice is between doing it easily and doing it well. A soft top folds back in minutes and stores nowhere, which is why it actually gets used; it is also noisier at highway speed and less secure at a trailhead. A hard top is quiet, warm and lockable, and it needs somewhere to live for half the year and usually a second pair of hands to lift it.
Doors are the smaller decision with the larger consequences. Tube doors keep the mirrors and the shape of the opening while letting the weather straight in, and full removal means finding somewhere for the mirrors and knowing what your state asks of you. Freedom panels split the difference on the hard tops that have them. Every item here names the years and body style it fits, since the two-door and four-door Wrangler share very little of this. That comes to 34 items.
