Light mounts and brackets: the part that decides whether a light fits
A light is only as good as what holds it, and the bracket is where most auxiliary lighting projects stall. Bars and pods almost always ship bare; the mount is a separate purchase and it is the vehicle-specific half.
A-pillar mounts put pods high and wide for ditch lighting. Bumper and grille tabs keep light below the hood line, out of the reflection that ruins visibility in dust and fog. Roof mounts throw furthest and create that reflection. Hood-hinge brackets are the no-drill answer on most trucks. They use factory bolts, which is what you want on a vehicle you intend to sell one day.

Model year matters more than model
Bracket fitment is unforgiving in a way the light itself is not. A windshield mount cut for one model year frequently fouls the hood on the year either side, because manufacturers change the A-pillar and roofline more often than they change the badge.
