Choosing a kit
Leveling a Ram 1500 without upsetting the coil rear
A leveling kit lifts the front of the truck to meet the rear, and on a Ram 1500 there is less of a gap to close than on a leaf-sprung pickup. The coil-sprung rear sits flatter from the factory to start with. What you get is tire clearance and a stance that reads level, without the cost or the geometry work of a full lift kit.
What to settle first is what is actually under your truck. Most of these are a front strut spacer or a preload collar, and Ram's factory air suspension levels itself and is excluded by nearly all of them. The trucks still sold as the Classic beside the current body are a different platform again.
