Built for a seriously lifted GM half-ton: 5-6 in. , but on a comparatively short body at 21.5 in. extended and 13.76 in. collapsed. Mounting position rather than raw length is what makes that work. Rear standard suspension only.
It is worth resisting the assumption that a taller lift always wants a longer shock; at 21.5 in. extended this one is shorter than several Black Max units rated for far less height, because the mounting geometry differs. Collapsed length is 13.76 in. Skyjacker specifies it for vehicles with the rear standard suspension, at 5-6 in. and 6 in. of lift. Coverage is the 1999-2006 Silverado 1500 and its 2007 Classic, the Avalanche 1500 from 2002-2005 and eight further applications, in 4WD.
