Front Stubby Winch Bumper, fitment-checked

Rough Country 1012 is a stubby front winch bumper for 1987-2006 Jeep Wrangler 4WD models. It replaces the factory bumper and arrives as two boxes: the bumper itself and a winch mounting plate. The winch pocket is recessed into the bumper body and the fairlead mounts on the outside face.

This stubby bumper pulls the front end back inside the tires on the 1987-2006 Jeep Wrangler 4WD, opening up tire clearance and a steeper approach angle for trail work. It bolts to factory mounting points, so nothing has to be cut or drilled, and Rough Country lists the job at 1-2 hours. The winch plate sits recessed in the bumper body with the fairlead mounted externally where it stays easy to reach. Rough Country sizes the pocket around its own PRO Series winches, sold separately; any other brand should be test-fit first. A downloadable installation guide is available. Shipping weight: 47 lb.

Kit contents

Priced components are sold separately here, so a worn shock or arm can be replaced on its own later.

Rough Country shares subassemblies across kits, so individual package labels can carry broader application ranges. The complete 1012 kit fits the vehicles shown in the fitment section above.
