Choosing a kit

How much lift a Wrangler actually needs

The Wrangler is the easy one to lift and the easy one to get wrong. It runs a solid axle at both ends, so a coil spacer raises the Jeep without putting a CV joint at a new angle, which is why 2 to 2.5 inches is close to bolt-on here and is not on any independent-front truck we sell. A lift kit at that height is mostly springs, spacers and longer hardware.

Past 2.5 inches the axle starts to walk sideways as it lifts, and correcting that is what separates a kit that tracks straight from one that wanders. A track bar stops being optional, and shocks long enough for the new travel are what let the springs do their job. Every kit here is matched to the Wrangler's application data, and each product page prints what the manufacturer leaves out. The two-door and the four-door Unlimited take different springs, and Rubicon models are usually called out on their own. That is 214 kits to work through.
