Even a modest lift on an independent front suspension pushes the upper ball joint toward the end of its articulation, and past a couple of inches the arm becomes the limiting factor rather than the spring. These replace it across the whole run of the fifth-generation 4Runner, 2003-2022, at 1-3 in. of lift. Sold as a pair, one per side, at 20 lb boxed. The long application window makes this an unusually low-risk part to order. The year checking is nearly moot.
