It adds a corrosion barrier on a part that lives in the spray. Underneath, the ball stud is heat-treated 4140, the POM joint moves further than the factory piece, and a cap keeps debris out. Grease the joints before the first drive. The corrected ball joint angle supports camber and caster settings closer to factory on a lifted truck.
