4Runner lift kits: coilovers, sway bars, sensible height
The 4Runner is a body-on-frame wagon with a front coilover, so height comes from a taller spring or a complete strut assembly, and the useful range runs to about 3 inches rather than the numbers a solid-axle truck will take. Past that the upper arm angle and the CV boots decide the matter, not the spring you bought.
The complication particular to this vehicle is the hydraulic sway bar system on the off-road trims. Vehicles built with it have to be unloaded in a specific order during installation, and several kits name it as an exclusion for exactly that reason. Upper control arms and a rear spring matched to the front are the usual companions, and shocks valved for the new height are what keep it composed afterwards. Every kit here is matched to Toyota's application data and prints its exclusions on the product page. The list comes to 41 kits.
