Towing and hitch parts: the weakest rated part is your real capacity
Towing capacity is a chain, and the chain is only worth its weakest link. The hitch, the ball mount, the ball, the hitch pin and the vehicle each carry their own rating, and the lowest number among them is what you can legally and safely pull. Regardless of what the truck is advertised as capable of.
Drop and rise matter almost as much. A trailer that noses down or tails up does not track straight, brakes badly and wears its tires unevenly. Getting the coupler level is not cosmetic; it is most of what makes a trailer behave at speed.

Weight distribution and sway control
Past roughly half the vehicle's rated capacity, a weight-distributing hitch stops being optional. It moves load back onto the front axle, which is what returns steering and braking to something like normal. Sway control is a separate function again, and worth having on anything with a large frontal area.
Locks matter more than people expect: a coupler lock and a hitch pin lock are the cheapest theft deterrent available for a trailer. We stock 83 towing parts from 4 brands across 4 sections.
