Silverado 1500 leveling kits: what changes, what doesn't
Raising the front of a Silverado 1500 to meet the rear is the smallest change that alters how the truck looks, and it is worth being honest about the rest. A leveling kit is not a lift kit: it does not add travel, it does not improve the ride, and it does not turn a half-ton into an off-road truck. It closes the rake and it frees up room at the front wheel.
There is a consequence to plan for. Moving the front up changes camber and caster, so an alignment afterwards is part of the job rather than an optional extra, and on the coilover trucks the strut ends up working closer to the end of its stroke. Models carrying electronically controlled damping are excluded by several kits by name. Every kit here states the years, cabs and drivetrains it fits, and the shocks or spacers it includes. That is 24 kits in all.
