Sierra 1500 lift kits: drivetrain changes the parts
The first thing that narrows a Sierra 1500 kit is the drivetrain. Two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive trucks do not share a front suspension on this platform, so a lift kit or a leveling kit is written for one or the other with no overlap. Buying the right height for the wrong drivetrain is the most common ordering mistake on a GM half-ton.
After that it is era and trim. The older trucks lift from torsion bars and the later ones from a coilover, and Denali and AT4 models can carry ride-control hardware that several kits exclude by name. A 2 inch kit is the common entry point and stays close to the factory ride; going taller brings upper control arms and a relocated crossmember with it. Every kit here prints the years, cabs and drivetrains it covers. That is 240 kits in all.
