What a Ram 1500 lift kit has to solve at the rear
The Ram 1500 is the half-ton that left leaf springs behind. Coil springs at the rear are much of why it rides the way it does, and they are also why lifting it is a different job — there is no block-and-U-bolt shortcut back there, so a lift kit for this truck has to raise the rear on coils or spacers of its own.
That rear end is where the fitment traps are too. Trucks built with Ram's air suspension level themselves and are excluded outright by most kits, and the body sold as the Classic alongside the current truck is a different platform underneath. Every kit here states which of those it covers, and rear shocks sized for the new ride height are worth settling before the order rather than after it. The choice runs to 70 kits.
