A rear double-cardan drive shaft for lifted Jeep Wrangler TJ and YJ 4WD models. TJ coverage is specific: 1997–2002 models need the 2.5L four-cylinder with the three-speed automatic, and 2005–2006 models need the 2.4L four-cylinder with the six-speed manual. Rubicon models are excluded, and a slip yoke eliminator must already be installed.
Read the qualifiers before ordering this one, because the TJ coverage is narrower than the year span implies: the engine and transmission combination decides it, and Rubicon models are out entirely. The shaft measures 15.5 in collapsed and 19 in extended, runs upgraded cardan joints behind Brute Force red seals, and is rated at twice the strength of the shaft it replaces. On a TJ it suits 4 in to 6 in of lift; on a YJ, around 4 in. A slip yoke eliminator has to be in place first. Plan on 2 to 3 hours and pull the downloadable installation guide.
