The 2003-2006 half of the TJ run gets its own transfer case drop kit — Rough Country 1669TC. Applications include Rubicon, Unlimited, Unlimited Rubicon, Sahara, Sport, SE, X, and the 65th Anniversary Edition, all 4WD. Fitment is limited to 2003-2006 TJ models; earlier TJs take a different part.
Rough Country splits the TJ Wrangler into two transfer case drop kits, and this one covers 2003-2006 only. The applications run from SE and X up through Rubicon, Unlimited, and Unlimited Rubicon, plus the 65th Anniversary Edition, all in 4WD. Adding lift steepens the angle the rear driveshaft has to turn through; lowering the transfer case at its mount brings that angle back down and takes the vibration out of the driveline. The parts bolt on and Rough Country lists 2-3 hours for the job.
