About this part
Pitman Arm, fitment-checked
This pitman arm suits 1984–2001 Jeep Cherokee and 1986–1992 Jeep Comanche models, 4WD and RWD alike. Two conditions govern the fit: the vehicle must have power steering, and the suspension lift must fall in the 6in to 7in range. Outside either of those, look at a different arm.
Big lift, big change in steering angle. At 6in to 7in of suspension lift the factory pitman arm leaves the draglink running at an angle it was never drawn for. This arm resets that geometry on power-steering 1984–2001 Jeep Cherokee and 1986–1992 Jeep Comanche models, which keeps the turning radius intact and takes some of the harshness out of the steering. Manual-steering vehicles are not covered, so check the box before you check the lift height. Budget 2-3 hours for the swap and read through the downloadable Rough Country installation guide first. Shipping weight: 5.0 lb.
